Getting ready for a talk, or planning out your writing schedule is most always not a collaborative effort.
You will be giving your talk. Nobody else will.
You might have a team of researchers working for you, gathering information, digging out and verifying factoids. But you and you alone will have to put them together.
Speakers Need Self-Discipline
Presidents have speech writers. But the Commander in Chief is the one who has to stand up and deliver.

I have been delivering talks for over a half a century, and very rarely does anybody send me something out of the blue for one of my talks. It happens (thanks, Rick!) but I still need the self discipline to click through, read, think and apply. Nobody will do that for me or for you.
Speakers ask 4 Questions of Themselves
Now that you have everyone in the room:
- Do you have the self-discipline to stay on topic, stay away from rants, to deliver on what was promised?
- Who tells you to go into the room and practice?
- Who tells you to keep looking till you find the right image?
- Who tells you to keep digging until you get the facts, the correct facts to support your talk?
Self-discipline will go a long way to making you a better speaker and blogger.
Without it? Let me know how that works for you.
Reach out to us and we will get you on a cruise ship as a speaker.
