
I have never been accused of being a creative type. At least I don’t remember such accusations. Gosh, I don’t even use a Mac computer.
Attempting to write a series on 20 ways on how to be a more creative speaker is/was a risk for me.
Being a risk taker causes the lecturer to be more creative. More often than not, taking a risk will land you in uncharted waters, unfamiliar territory, ‘where no one has ever gone before.’ And when you are that brand new situation, you have to think on your feet, make do, try and fail. In essence, the seminar speaker needs to be more creative.

It’s not impossible but it’s tough to think new thoughts when you are not forced to do so. It’s easy to think new when you must. Risk takers often experience new.
Try a new story, a new image, a new sound bite and see how they work.
Try this – do something in your next talk that you KNOW is likely to bomb, then force yourself into a recovery mode to see how you handle it.
Be a risk taker and you will be much more creative to deal with your new antics.
