
I have just a handful of more topics to cover in this series on how to be a more creative cruise ship lecturer. By that I mean, a ring for each finger. 5 more topics.
This one is a no-brainer.
If you want to be more creative in your speaking, have more interests. Sports, music, stories, crafts, food, travel … and on and on and on.
Countless times an example to illustrate a point will come from an experience I had in the past … or that someone I know or read about had.

Quite simply – the more interests you have the more experiences you will have, the deeper the well is to draw ideas from.
I have a friend, Tyler, who writes at Silist.com – a redneck in Silicon Valley. For someone just over half my age I am sure he has 2 or even 3 times as many experiences as I have.
With some spit and polish he’d be a great public speaker. He’d definitely be a creative one with a lot of stories to tell.
Have interests. Pursue them. And draw from them and you will find your creativity blossoming into a useful tool for better presentations.
