Genie told Aladdin, “Tell her the truth!”
Public speakers tell lies.
There are 2 that they tell more often than others.
1. Professional speakers lie about how much money they make. I talked to a would-be client who speaks 30 times a year for $8,000 a pop. But he cannot afford to pay $200 for me to tell him what it takes to get a cruise ship speaking gig. This leads to the second lie.

2. Professional speakers lie about how busy they are. “I speak about 3 times a month.” Translation, the speaker who says this spoke 4 times in one month and hasn’t since.
I used to hang out with a group of writers. As it turned out most of them if not all had written something once and thought they were writers. They hadn’t written anything since. I called them ‘wroters’ and they threw me out.
Speakers are sometimes ‘spokers’ at best.
Tell the truth. And who knows, you might just win the girl Jasmine, um, speaking gig you want.
