This has nothing to do with speaking on a cruise ship … or maybe it does.
The ship is the Balmoral. It was built in 1988 and is operated by the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.

I wonder if some day there will be a Bill Belew Cruise Lines. Don’t hold your breath.
The ship was taken to the Blohm + Vosss Shipyard in Hamburg.
After that it was cut in half!! And a 99-foot midsection was inserted!!
It’s not me but I’ll bet there is somebody reading this who is an expert on ship construction who would be welcome aboard a cruise line to give talks on what it takes.
I’d come to the talk for sure.
This is an incredible undertaking.
I had a friend in high school whose brother was called Hacksaw Reynolds, an ex-NFL player.
Reynolds got his name by sawing a car in half with a hacksaw. Seriously!
I wonder if Reynolds was there when this ship was cut in half. 😎
Here’s a special interest topic – Amazing Engineering Feats.
Rick Deutsch does the Panama Canal. That’s hard to beat. The canal, that is. Not Rick.
What’s your topic? What do you know a lot about that you love to share when you have an audience?
Why not talk on a cruise ship?

Seems like this additional length would mess up the ocean going hydrodynamics from the original design.
Maybe that’s why they added it … to improve those dynamics?
