I just got back from Shanghai.
In Shanghai I gave a seminar to a group of business people. Their English was lacking. Unlike a similar professional group I taught there a month previously. Their English was exceptional.
Stories Are Good for Every Culture
In the course of my seminar I told a few stories to illustrate points.
I had told the same stories … when I lived in Japan. When I guest lectured in Russia. When I taught in Mexico. When I spoke in New York. (Not really a foreign country unless you are from California.). And California is a foreign country if you are from Ohio. And …
And in every case, the stories resonated. Lessons were learned. The students/attendees/listeners perked up. And it didn’t matter the age, country or job.
Storytelling is good form for the millennial, Gen X, Y, Z, Q, R, S or T or Baby boomer or, or …
Learn to tell stories well and your listeners will go home happy. And so will you!
