In a previous post I wrote that storytelling should be included in the cruise ship speaker’s toolkit.
When was the last time you heard the words, “Did you hear about?”
When was the last time you said the words, “Did I tell you about?”
Those words are introductions to a story. It might be a short story or a long story. But it’s a story nonetheless.
We Love to Share
We love to share good ‘stuff.’ We love to share stories that inspire us. We love to share stories that teach us something valuable. We love to share stories that are arouse our emotions. We love to tell stories that lead us to become better people.
Good stories are passed along. They are contagious. The new internet expression is go viral.
Good stories catch on with the listener.
Be The Talk of the Ship
What cruise ship speaker doesn’t want his/her attendees to be going about the ship sharing stories and anecdotes they had just heard in the cruise ship presentation?
Who doesn’t want to be the subject on somebody’s lips?
Tell a good story and you and your lectures will be a great draw for your next talk.
