My business partner, Bill, told me a story yesterday. He gives seminars on social media – how to maximize visitors to your site. It’s called INBOUND marketing aka organic. Silly name as far as I’m concerned. What – no pesticides used? It means they find you – you don’t try to pull them to you.

Anyway, he was down in Southern California speaking at a 3-day Internet marketing forum. When he goes on stage, the projection system does not bring up his laptop….despite working earlier. Yikes! “And now welcome Bill Belew”… but nothing on the big screen. As the audience waits . . . nothing. His laptop is putting out but something is wrong on the path of the electrons.
Surely the techs’ will come on stage to fix things. No. Nothing happens. Bill senses the crowd getting impatient as time ticks, ticks, ticks. The techies finally say it must be his laptop. (No – it’s working and set to send to the projector.) They bring in a MAC, but Bill has his passwords to his analytics on the Windows machine. More frustration. Tick Tick Tick. Holy cow – what a disaster.

Out of the crowd runs up Superwoman – an attendee. She gets the MAC going and Bill is saved. His talk is spot-on and he gets a standing ovation. Whew.
The moral – keep going. Never give up – never surrender!
