9 Comments that will Prevent You from Being Invited Back as a Cruise Ship Lecturer

It’s tough enough to get invited to be a cruise ship lecture. It’s certainly not impossible. But speaking on a cruise ship is not for everyone, nor does just anybody get to do it.

It’s pretty easy to NOT get invited back to speak.

One of my agents sent me a list of actual comments (below) that will prevent you from getting back.

These comments were NOT about me. I have yet to represent this agent.

9 Comments that will keep you from coming back as a cruise ship lecturer.

Perfect Cruise Ship Presentations

Perfect Cruise Ship Presentations

1. Slides are dated (too old) and not in focus.

2. Information was wrong.

3. Ranting about a personal political agenda.

4. All words with no substance.

5. Lecturer was not really an expert in the topic

6. Lecturer liked the sound of their own voice.

7. Map was outdated!

8. Lecturer read from notes and was not engaging.

9. Lectures were similar to boring university lecturers.

Here are the actual comments –

  • The slides were dated and not in focus
  • The information was wrong; the museum had relocated three years prior!
  • I don’t want to hear the presenter’s political agenda. [He] had a distinctly American political bias that was unnecessary on what I consider an international cruise ship
  • The commentary was far too plentiful and lacking “meat”. I’m a marine biologist who’s very familiar with Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There were several biological and geographical details throughout the cruise that were simply wrong. For example, Anacortes is not in the Strait, it’s in the far East of the San Juan Islands. Also, dolphins travel in pods, not groups, and commonly occur in pods as large as 20, not 7-10.
  • Lecturer uninformed and displayed no knowledge of subject
  • [lecturer] liked the sound of their own voice, you don’t have to keep talking when silence can say it all
  • Map was out dated!
  • Lecturer read from notes and was not engaging in the slightest
  • Lecturer reminded me of my boring uni lectures. In the last talk a gent in front of me snored throughout.

Rick and I can get you far past these kinds of criticisms. We can get you on board. Everybody (100%) of those who follow the steps we outline get accepted by an agent.

Why haven’t you contacted us yet? You know you want to.
