Most speakers don’t practice nearly enough.
We tend to think, I know what it is I want to say. I have said it numbers of time to numbers of people in numbers of situation.

What results is that the speaker creates a very good talk that works is most any situation. Read – a generic talk.
Steps to Create Perfect Presentation
Indeed it may still be quite good. But generic is all-purpose is not specific is not for the next audience who will be listening to it for the first time.
What the speaker needs to practice if they are delivering a ‘canned’ or previously presented (even multiple times) talk is how to give that talk to a new audience who is hearing it for the first time.
My experience is that speakers grow tired of their talks long before their listeners do. The reason is primarily because the speaker has used up all the freshness in their talk.
Practicing freshness is important.
No matter how many times you, the speaker, has delivered the talk, the listeners are hearing it for the first time. How can you make it sound like it was the first time for you to say something and you are saying it just for them?
No easy task. But not impossible either.
For me it’s mostly a mental exercise. I continually remind myself, this is their first time, this is their first time.
I look for the eager eyes of those in my audience and the open gesture. This encourages me that they are there for me and I need to be there for them.
Conclusion
Practice delivering freshness. And you will be on your way to perfection … every time.
