Top 2 Priorities for the Effective Cruise Ship Lecturer | The Professional Speaker, too

Conviction is Fire in the Bones

Conviction is Fire in the Bones

One of Steve Job’s presentation ‘principles’ was to deliver thoughts in groups of three.

That might have worked for him … and overall he has made a few more bucks than I have.

But I don’t agree.

It’s not about groups of three, it’s about one.

That being said I will contradict myself here … but keep in mind I am not talking I am writing.

There are 2 priorities every effective cruise ship lecturer should keep in mind. They are equally apropos to the professional speaker as well.

Priority 1 – Focus – Pound on your core message. One point. One theme. One topic. Everything else you say or do in your presentation drives that point home.

Priority 2 – Conviction – The speaker must have absolute conviction that the 30 or 45 minutes at hand that the audience is spending with them is the best way time can be spent at that moment.

It requires boldness.

However, if it’s true … then it’s true. And why shouldn’t the audience feel that conviction in your voice, in your demeanor, in your presentation?

I realize that it’s infotainment at best when we are on board. Even so, the audience will find in me focus on my topic and conviction that I know what I know.

How about you?
