“Right is right even nobody does it. Wrong is wrong even everybody does it. ” Augustine of Hippo.
“It’s more fun to be popular than not.” This was probably said by somebody (everybody?) on Facebook.
Cruise Ship Speakers are Thick-skinned
For whatever reason, feedback online is most always critical, negative, even harsh.
A teacher I once had working for me once told me, “People don’t like throwing stones at trains in the rail yard.” Meaning… people do like to throw stones at people, think speakers, who are out front.
You will be criticized, unfairly and fairly. Can you take it?

Speakers and writers often say they want feedback. But what they really want is for people to say nice things to them. It happens that people will offer praise. But criticism if more often the norm … more so online than in the theater.
Take Your Feedback
In any event, can you take feedback from all directions and from all sorts of motives?
Thick-skinned is not insensitive to the feedback. Rather this person can endure the feedback and even welcome the feedback.
The person who is secure in their knowledge and preparation is indeed the one who has the thickest skin.
