This is the 5th in my series of adding layers to your presentation to take your cruise ship lecture to a new level.
Go to 5 Layers to Raise the Level of Your Cruise Ship Presentation to start from the beginning.
Here is where you go to read the previous article on raising your level by letting your stories tell your message.
I make sure I deliver on the promised topic. No issues there.
I also have an overarching theme to my talk that making my presentations drives home.
I will add meaningful stories to my lectures that touch on emotions – humor, pity, anger … and cause the audience to react but most importantly reinforce the point I am making in my presentation.
Next I want my slides to tell a story.
On recent trans-Atlantic cruise I placed my slides/images on a chart of the Atlantic Ocean that showed our starting point, Miami, and end point, Nice.
As I clicked through the slides we ‘sailed’ across the ocean. The audience was learning about social media but as I panned my slides in and out they could see something happening in the background. This would keep them involved while they listened as they would be interested in ‘where’ this talk was going in two different aspects.
Let your slides tell a story, too and your audience will be more engaged than you can imagine.
