I love my wife and I am pretty sure she loves me. Even so, I wrote more than 12,000 blog posts and never once did she ask me in the 3 years or so that it took, “Did you write something today? Did you write something yesterday?”
My daughter, on the other hand, asks me how I am doing on her blog from time to time. 😎
Cruise Ship Speakers Are Self-Starters
I can get a date to speak on a cruise ship some 6 months out. That’s tough.
None too often I don’t get motivated to work on my talks until I can feel the time closing in on me.

None too often, when I feel the time closing in, it can be too late to get started and still do a good job.
Nobody on the cruise line will ever ask you, “Do you have your talks ready? How’s the progress coming on that talk?”
At most, the cruise line will ask for your topics and a description of the talk and that’s all.
Get to Work, Now
As I write this, I am about 5 weeks out from giving a talk in Cape Town (not on a cruise ship, sadly) and the organizers haven’t asked me how my talk is coming. My wife hasn’t asked. Gosh, Rick, the other principal here at Speak On Cruises hasn’t even asked.
If you are going to be any good as a speaker or a blogger, you’re going to have to be able to not ask, but tell yourself, “Okay, get to work on that talk.” If you can do that, you can become a cruise ship speaker.
Reach out to us and we will get you on a cruise ship as a speaker.
