I attended a small sort of break out meeting of National Speaker Association members, professional speakers and wannabes a few weeks ago.
At the beginning of the meeting the organizer brought out a flip chart and asked everyone present to pitch in on a brainstorming exercise.
The question was – what do professional speakers need most.
In this post I will list up what the group came up with – except for the few where I can’t read my writing.
In future posts I will dive into each and tell you how I think the professional cruise ship speaker can improve.
The list:
Marketing team
Web skills
Belief in content
Persistence
Networking skills
Support system
Evoke emotions
Confidence
Belief in self
Optimism
Active listener
Unique
Props
Ethical
Integrity
In service
Storyteller
Authentic
Experienced
Expert
Empowering
Riveting
Presence
Engaging
Effective Business Model.
The next question was – where are your strengths followed by where are your weaknesses?
This list is not exhaustive. I can think of other qualities to add to the list – use of props, outlining skills, finds the right audience, is found by the right audience and and ….
How about you? What are you strengths? What are your weaknesses?
More importantly, how do you improve your weaknesses?

if we can help you improve.
