Sometimes, okay, often when I write these posts I feel like I am mostly talking to myself.
I was reading the account of a speaker who’s claim to fame, if it can be called that, was that he more than 5 years as a POW. The things some people will go through to get on stage. Whew!
Seriously, I am not making light of the situation. In fact, this fellow can teach me something.
Because of the situation he found himself in he said that he as well as the other POWs found themselves experiencing “long, deep periods of reflection.”
As a result he said that he learned that his physical body was not the only thing that was imprisoned.
He learned about himself … from just thinking that he needed to:
1. become free of unhealthy mindsets
2. get rid of erroneous opinions
3. let go of self-limiting fears
How many of us do become enslaved by such shackles.
There were other POWs to be sure, but Lee Ellis, also freed himself of the bonds that tied him to the chairs and found his way on stage to encourage the rest of us to dig deep to bring out the best in us and bury the rest.
