
Not everyone who speaks enjoys it. Some speakers are on the stage out of necessity. Some speakers are on stage because they are the expert in the topic. Being an expert doesn’t equal being the best communicator on the speaker’s platform.
Speakers Should Love What They Do
It is not mandatory, but it really helps to enjoy the actual speaking part of the performance.
If you are afraid of being in front of people, if you find it to articulate your thoughts literally on your feet, speaking will be a chore and not something you are likely to want to stay with long term.

Indeed one of the best ways to become very good at doing anything – skiing, playing the piano, writing, speaking is to do your chosen field a LOT. Do it until you find what works and what doesn’t.
Once again, when you are required to do something a lot, it helps to enjoy doing it.
I can make a pretty educated guess on how many words I have written as part of my blogging career. The number is literally in the millions.
How to Become an Expert at Speaking
The Japanese say that you have to do something 100 times to become an expert. That does not mean 100 talks makes you an expert. It means giving the same talk 100 times makes you an expert at giving that talk.
