Name recognition is is useful to the cruise ship lecturer. Having a following. People knowing who you are. Being somebody who is somebody in your industry.

It doesn’t hurt to have a good online presence in the social networks. Think LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ and Facebook.

LinkedIn is for professionals.

Depending on what level of ship you want to cruise, you will want to establish yourself as a professional. You can always get booked on a less than luxury ship, But you canNOT always get booked on a higher quality ship.

LinkedIn can help. And one thing you can do on LinkedIn that helps is publish. Publish high-quality content that your connections and those in your industry value.

2. Speak.

3. Get written about.

4. Get spoken about.

But first you have to be present.

Speaking is under the control of the event organizer. Writing – all you need is your own account.
