Writing on this habit my daughter’s site comes to mine. She often writes about the Disney princesses. She’s 6-years old. That’s her world.
Genie tells Aladdin when he is trying to win over Jasmine, “Be yourself.”
Great advice if you are on the speaker on stage and are trying to win over your audience.
Be yourself. Remove all pretenses. Don’t try to be someone else, to mimic, to act like another person unless that it is your nature to do so.
Think – “If you are not you. Who is going to be you?”

You can’t. You either are authentic or you are not.
Mark Twain said something to the effect, “People who always tell the truth don’t have to remember what they said.”
People who are always themselves don’t have to remember how they acted or performed in some situations.
If you are bozo – change. Otherwise be yourself on stage.
People will be more impressed with the fact that there was a real person on stage telling us things they would be with great content delivered by some guy/gal who acted like (insert name).
