Diary of a Whimpy Kid, um, Cruise Ship Speaker – the Debrief

Wrapping up this series on my first experience speaking on a cruise ship the last thing I did was a debrief.

I decided to sit down with my veteran cruise ship speaker friend, Rick Deutsch, and tell him my experience and get his feedback.

After that, I went back through my slides while the experience was still fresh in my mind and made changes/notes to things I want to do differently next time.

There’s always room for improvement.

There were slides that didn’t work. Places where I could add something or make better choices for images.

In short – the Toyota thing – Kaizen. Always making improving.

I am not sure why I take this so serious. It doesn’t make me any money although I did get some leads, trying as hard as I can to NOT do that.

I guess it has to do with a couple of things.

These folk were on their vacation. Of the many many options they had to spend their time, and on a cruise ship there are a LOT, they chose to spend part of their vacation with me. That’s no small thing. They gave me some of their time. I decided to do my best to give something back, for them to pleased they spent their time with me. I am glad I am did.

Point – if you’re going to do something/anything, you might as well give it your best. So, I did.
