I have been struggling to come up with a theme for an upcoming presentation to a group of Toastmasters.

My topic is Marketing with Social Media (what I do in my ‘other’ life). But to just explain the pros and cons and the what is and how to of marketing with social media are the ingredients of a pretty dry presentation.

I am not sure if I thought of the idea when I woke up or if the idea woke me up. But this morning I came up with the theme I want to use, the focus I will have on my presentation.

Instead of this is this and that is that and these are these, I will use the theme (still working on the exact wording) Marketers Change Lives. Then dive into what is the best marketing strategy to get the best impact in the lives of the marketed.

Changing lives is a bigger message, a stronger message than a simple information presentation on a topic.

When I am done on Sunday, I want my listeners to go away thinking, “I can change lives with Social Media Marketing” and not just “Social Media Marketing is a powerful tool for the marketer.”
