Cruise Ship Speakers Must Have These 3 Characteristics to Do Well

Cruise Ship Speakers are Storytellers

Cruise Ship Speakers are Storytellers

Speakers have to do/be more than just a speaker. You can have the most powerful message in the world but if you can’t get people in the seats for reasons that you can control, there’s a problem … Houston.

Buy-in – Your cruise ship audience has to feel that there is a compelling reason to give up their 45 minutes of bliss at the buffet table, the spa or bingo. They may not know why yet, but they do want to hear what you have to say.

Credibility – Don’t follow, lead. Don’t just spout out what anyone else can find in a book somewhere else. Based on your skills, your knowledge, your hard-knocks experiences of failures and successes, offer them something new. Make a contribution. Be a thought leader.

Likeability – Nobody cares what you know until they know that you care. Like people. Genuinely like them. They will like you from the get go as well. If you are a slob and your language is something that would make your grandmother, mother? blush … then you have an uphill battle.
