Retired from a 20-year marketing career at major Silicon Valley computer company, Rick Deutsch embarked on a path of adventure writing and motivational speaking. He has written a bestselling guide book on Yosemite National Park in California. As a member of the National Speakers Association, he gives presentations to organizations, museums, associations and companies. He has been interviewed television, radio and writes articles on fitness and the outdoors for magazines.
An avid adventurer, he has explored the Caribbean from the depths of Belize and Roatan to the tops of Mayan temples and the rain forests of Costa Rica. He’s logged over 250 scuba dives including the sites on this itinerary. A degreed engineer, he is a student of the fascinating effort it took to construct the marvelous Panama Canal. His extroverted style and knowledge make for lively presentations.
Rick holds a BS from the University of Maryland, an MS from USC and an MBA from Santa Clara University. An Air Force officer during the Vietnam Era, he was later awarded a Commendation Medal for support of the longest low-flying satellite program to date.
