Bloggers and speakers have a lot in common. Cruise ship speaker can learn from bloggers who can, in turn, learn from cruise ship lecturers.
I am a professional blogger in my ‘other life.’ I don’t just blah, blah, blah.
I am also a professional speaker. I get invited to go places and speak beyond the cruise ship circuit. Next month is Cape Town and Johannesburg. Next March, Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai. That kind of thing.
Today I had lunch with a fellow who is director of sales for a radio station here in the Bay Area of San Jose.
Masterminding Blogging and Speaking
I do content marketing. This director of sales and I have things in common. But we are different.
In many industries and experiences there are cross overs – experiences and lessons learned that can be applied across disciplines.
When people get together in groups to share and learn from one another it is called a Mastermind group.
I heard of a group of cardio pulmonary doctors hanging out with some gas pipe fitters. That sounds cool.
Lessons Learned from Blogging and Speaking
I thought to share in my next series of articles here some of the cross over disciplines there are from my experience between blogging and speaking.
There are things I do to make myself a better content marketer that can make me a better speaker. There are things I do as a speaker that can make me a better content marketer.
I want to share. More importantly, I want you to share. Tell me how you became good at what you do and let’s think out loud how those lessons can make us better cruise ship speakers.
Reach out.
