This is the 3rd in my series on ingredients to bring excellence to your cruise ship presentation.
The first ingredient (not in order of importance) was confidence.
The second ingredient was speech = using words that reflect your character.
Excellence in Knowledge
The third ingredient that is necessary for excellence is knowledge.
Knowledge comes from expertise. You can only fake being an expert to a certain degree.
When you are a true expert, knowledge spills out.
Ask Rick to talk about hiking Yosemite. Then step aside because he can talk for a loooooong time.
He really is the expert. He literally wrote the book on hiking Half Dome.

If you want to have excellence in your cruise ship presentation then share the knowledge you have gained in your area of expertise.
Your listeners will often forgive your poor slides, or your stutter (to a degree that is) but they will not forgive you if you don’t know what you are talking about. They will not forgive a pretender.
