Persistence is nobody’s favorite word. Except for the successful and creative public cruise ship speaker.
In my other life as a Social Media Marketer, I tell my clients and students that longevity is one of the fundamental keys to success.
My spiel goes something like this:
“Everybody gets tired at some point. Your competition gets tired. You get tired. However, when your competition gets tired, DON’T get tired and you will beat them.”

Staying with it = persistence means you can eventually win at most anything.
But how does being persistent lend itself to being creative?
Over the course of time there are any number of reasons to give up. An unceasing attack in fact.
So the persistent lecturer has to consistently come up with ways and reasons to continue. That’s where the creativity comes in.
Finding new ways, even if finding those new ways are found out of necessity lends itself to being creative.
The speaker who does not adapt can often find themselves irrelevant and dead in the water.
I tell my students that oftentimes it is not something new that will change their lives, it is something old.
Persistence is one of the old school words.
