20 Ways to Be More Creative in Your Public Speaking | Commitment

Commitment is a Dance

Commitment is a Dance

This is the second to last article in my series on how to be a more creative cruise ship lecturer, public speaker.

There are lots of simple things that you can do to improve your creativity quickly. Please take a moment to go back to the first article. You’ll find links to all of them in the series there. Or, be patient, and I will put them all in an ebook.

This characteristic is easily stated, but no so easily demonstrated.

The creative type is committed to their craft. The creative type is committed to developing themselves and their tools. Not a small commitment. A big one!

Related: Book Bill to teach your group how commitment to writing changed his life.

My son is a pianist. Classically trained. And partial as I am to him, he is very very good.

I asked him once, “What would you do if you didn’t play the piano?”

Long pause followed and he finally replied, “What would I do?”

That’s commitment. No plan B in his master plan.

He might find different ways to play a piece, but he is determined to play the piece.

When there is no turning back or turning aside, the public speaker will find a way.

Finding a way no matter what, as in absolutely no matter what, requires commitment. And commitment fosters creativity.

Make a commitment and stick to it.
