Royal Caribbean is playing one-up with Carnival. They call the new ship, the “Quantum of the Seas.” They will roll out the 4,180-passenger ship in November of 2014. It will be a neat assignment to speak on the Quantum.
Many no-cost attracton will keep passengers busy. A new device called North Star, is a giant mechanical arm that will lift passengers above the ship in a glass capsule. It was inspired by the London Eye. The capsule can hold 14 people and is attached to a crane-like arm.
There will be a skydiving attraction, called RipCord. Wind power will keep guests floating over the deck. An indoor complex called SeaPlex will feature basketball, ping pong, trapeze and bumper cars.

The Quantum will be based in Bayonne, New Jersey. It will offer up to 12-night cruises to the Bahamas, the Eastern & Southern Caribbean.
In the One-upsmanship Dept, in 2014, Norwegian Cruise Line will roll out the 4,028-passenger Getaway, and Princess Cruises’ will sail the 3,560-passenger Regal Princess. Meanwhile, to put more seats on the sea, Costa Cruises’ 3,700-passenger Costa Diadema, the will be pushed out as the line’s largest ship ever.
