Just when we were getting used to 5000+ passengers on ships that carry more people than many small towns, we hear that Royal Caribbean is going to move forward with building yet another Godzilla.
The Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas were the first two ginormous liners, and they created a whole new class of ship. There is no name for it now (jargon is Oasis III). It’s really going to happen since the “keel” (bottom) has been set and laid in the French shipbuilder, STX’s shipyard. It will be the same size as the others.

Look for this ship in two years with yet a another one after that. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Is the parent of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara Club Cruise and other Euro lines.
The Oasis III’s statistics will be virtually a clone of its two sister ships:
* 2,700 rooms spanning 16 decks
* 1,187 feet long
* 236 feet high
* 500,000 individual parts
