NCL grows

In a public announcement on the NCL website, Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer said they will expand their market with the purchase of Oceana and Regent.

The parent is called Prestige and they sail eight ships comprised of the two lines. Oceania Cruises has five ships to over 300 ports. Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a luxury experience with three all-suite ships. They have another on order.

I have never given talks on either, but I do know they are very nice. This move should not affect our speakers – but rather expand opportunities. If you give a successful lecture on Oceania, you will have good credentials for placement on Regent. It’s unknown if the ships will all carry the NCL brand or remain as they are.

The agencies booking these lines will establish connections with a single entity which will facilitate the vetting process. The key is the same. InfoTainment for older people on vacation. Royal Caribbean and Carnival stillremain the largest lines.
