Galapagos Islands
Alaska
Turkey
Papua New Guinea
West Papua in Indonesia
Antarctica

I’ve had free cruses by speaking on various cruise ships to many of them. Here’s my take.

Cuba – While I can’t speak for the rest of Cuba, Havana is where most want to go. Good for one day. You’ll see it after decades of isolation. Bottom line: Communism doesn’t work. The place is (generally) a dump. “Bombed out” looking buildings, litter, flaking paint, crummy roads. BUT nice people and very safe. They cart out any rule breakers. And the old cars are neat.
Tips when sailing to Cuba – Go before the burger shacks arrive
Egypt – My favorite place is … ancient Egypt. The pyramids and temples are awesome. Go! The terrorist thing is under control and the country wants tourist dollars, so you will be safe on a tour.
Galapagos – The Garden of Eden. GO! But soon, too many Ecuadorians and tourists are ruining the place.
Alaska – I love it. The scenery is awesome…the air clean, and the animals are approachable. Go!
Papua New Guinea – Huh? I was scuba diving and the underwater life is the best. But Port Moresby is a mafia-like town…. don’t stay…not a whole lot to see in PNG, unless you like jungle and a lot of Japanese cannon emplacements from WW2.
Antarctica – Wow – the bottom of the earth. Serene. Go! But good luck on Drakes Passage. Dramamine.
