Carnival rolling out state-of-the art wifi

Wifi connections on Carnival ships will improve

Wifi lets cruise ship lecturers in touch with home

Carnival Corporation will jump leaps and bounds above the competition when it flips the switch on a truly advanced wifi system. The connectivity will allow data transfer at 10 times that currently available to consumers. Internet will no longer be at dial-up speeds.

The new technology will use land-based antennas, connections at their tour berths and relays through orbiting satellites. Picture yourself reading the Wall Street Journal real-time whilst you are 400 miles off shore. Unknown if Skype or movie streaming will bunk things up.

I just hope this doesn’t keep people in their cabins and miss the smell of the briny deep.
