In this introduction post I explained how I came upon this 12-part series of Weight Loss and Speaking on a Cruise ship. Please take a look.
Here in part 6 I want to address question 6 with a twist.
6.) Is there anything I should be doing to protect my vulnerability?

Nobody gets really bad at something they have always been good at all of a sudden.
The incline into decline can be and is often slow and steady.
What do you do keep the level of your cruise ship presentations up to snuff?
Do you hang out with other speakers? Do you get feedback? Do you listen to the feedback? Do you record your talks? Do you watch the recordings? Do you take notes? Do you practice on ways to improve your flaws?
It really is easy to pick up a bad habit unwittingly.
Hands in the pocket. Uh. Jangling change. Uh. Tugging on your shirt. Uh. Touching your nose. Uh …
You get the idea?
The really good speaker, presenter will have a means to self check so that they don’t drift into some annoying distracting habit.
Who’s in your corner? Who do you rely on for the genuine and honest feedback you need to keep you doing well?
Find someone, some way to get honest feedback. People say they want feedback but what they really want is for people to say nice things to them.
Go for honesty.
Your audience will be glad you did and so will you!
