In this introduction post, I explained how I came upon this 12-part series of Weight Loss and Speaking on a Cruise ship. Please take a look.
Here in part 11 I want to address question 11 with a twist.
A couple of years ago, I spoke at a blog convention in Las Vegas. A lot of somebodies (200+) in the room heard me and thought to himself, “I want this guy to speak at my conference.” I know he thought that because he told me later – 2 years later when I spoke at his conference of 350+. I didn’t realize he was in the room in Vegas.
I hold Meetups locally and almost weekly to groups of 5-25 people. People come and go. I made a friend. George. George traveled with me to the conference with more than 350 people.
George made a friend who has 370 licensees that work under him on a project. George introduced me this friend who now wants to hire me to train all his licensees.
This happened because I treat every room as if ‘somebody’ is there.
You never know who you are talking to or where it will take you.
Who would you like to invite you to speak? When you present, do it as if they are already there. They might just be there.
Talk to us to get on board as a cruise ship speaker. You know you want to.
