What Do Weight Loss and Speaking on a Cruise Ship Have in Common (Part 10)

In this introduction post I explained how I came upon this 12-part series of Weight Loss and Speaking on a Cruise ship. Please take a look.

Here in part 10 I want to address question 10 with a twist.

10.) What dreams have I dreamt in the past that I’d love to have again?
Dream big, do big

Dream big, do big

This might be a dangerous question to ponder on.

There’s that age old advice to the newbie speaker, “Just imagine everyone in the audience as being in their underwear or less.”

Cruise ships often get close to nude beaches. My experience has been that people you see on nude beaches are not people you want to see. I think there is a connection here. I am not sure.

Have you ever daydreamed yourself upon stage doing whatever?

What’s that daydream look like? Slow down and think it through to the vivid details. Keep thinking.

Now open your eyes and make it happen on stage.

It doesn’t matter that there are only 10 or 100 people in front of you…sometimes less. Imagine they are the only 10 you can see and that there are 100’s if not 1,000’s of others watching as well.

My last cruise talk, I got a comment from a guy who never came to my talk. He said, “I watched your talk every day on the replay on the ships CCTV!”

These days your talk can be recorded, uploaded to YouTube or something similar and indeed be watched by more people than you can put on a cruise ship.

Not if you can dream it you can do it but, since you dreamed it, do it.

Your audience will be glad you did and so will you.

Talk to us to get on board as a cruise ship speaker. You know you want to.
