When is the best time to give a lecture on a cruise ship?
The obvious answer is anytime.
Anytime you can get on a cruise ship to talk is a good time.
Gosh, I’d talk to the camera directly at midnight if I can cruise for free. And take my wife with me.
Being on a cruise aside, is there a good time to give a lecture?
I have done morning, afternoon and late afternoon.

Mornings are okay except when there is some reason that most of the ship stayed up all night to party the previous night. And on a cruise ship there are always reasons to party. My last time out I spoke at 10:15 am the morning after the biggest New Year’s Even party ever. Really bad attendance.

Mid-afternoon – good attendance. People are awake, until the carb loading they did at lunch sinks in, and alert.
Late afternoon – as bad as morning. People are napping or getting a head start on the dinner buffet.
The speaker doesn’t get to decide or even ask for that matter. Still, it’s helpful to know what to expect or why people did NOT show up.
