Carnival Lines is the largest in the world, with 24 ships running world wide. Many are having trouble with onboard systems and other problems. However, cruise ship speaker agencies are looking for Destination and Enrichment speakers to feed these ships. Carnival is in the process of bringing a 7th ship to south Florida. They are moving the Carnival to the Port of Miami in 2014.
The Splendor holds 3,000 passengers. It will begin Caribbean cruises in November, 2014. The addition of the ship will boost their passenger load to over a million people a year.
Port Miami is already home to the Carnival Breeze, Glory, Liberty, Victory and (soon). The Carnival Freedom is already based in Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. As part of their commitment to Florida, the Carnival Vista will roll out 2016 and might be based there. The fleet of ships will sail out of Florida to the Bahamas and the eastern and western Caribbean. Popular stops include: St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk, and Nassau or Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Roatan, Honduras.
In addition, the Splendor will be the first ship to have the Dr. Seuss program – great for kids of all ages. If this is not your cup of tea – stay off Carnival…the entire fleet will be outfitted with Seussian activities by the end of 2014.
Bottom line – there are a heck of a lot of opportunities for speakers. Easy to get to Miami….and you’d have an easy air ride – round trip – no hassle with Euro trips.
