
If people are silly enough to wear something that is noticeable, they surely want it to be noticed, eh?
Say something.
This is a great way to connect with your audience before, during and after your talk.
WARNING: People don’t wear big noses. They are born with them or grow them as they get older. Don’t talk about their appearance.
Indeed it used to fun to poke fun. Not any more.

If I am going to poke fun at someone, I ALWAYS make myself the butt of my jokes.
But if she has a nice brooch, or he has an interesting tie ( I have a tie with the 3 Stooges on it and another that I bought at REI with a bunch of caribiners on it.)
“Oh I see you like to make silly while you are rock climbing,” is what you might say to someone who is wearing both of my ties.
Or, “Does Bill know you are wearing his ties?” is another.
Accessories speak. People wear them because they want to say something. Listen. Observe. Talk back. And you will have at least that person interested.
And if not, maybe you can offer to swap ties with them.
