Often you get lunch provided or are on your own. Organized lunches are usually safe since the restaurants want the return business. Lots of money changes hands.

However, you may need to take precautions. Mercury and other elements may have been ingested by the fish. Ever hear of the “Plastic Ocean?” It’s as big as the state of Texas and is the collection point in the Pacific for plastic. Bags and bottles eventually come apart and shred into tiny particles. Fish eat them … and guess what? The so do we!

Also, many of these fish are in danger of overfishing. If we stop ordering them, they will not be bought … and not be caught. Due to health and environmental concerns here are 10 fish to avoid.
1. Farm raised salmon – often called “Atlantic salmon.”
2. Chilean Sea bass
3. Marlin – blue or striped
4. Sharks
5. Skates
6. Swordfish
7. Albacore Tuna
8. Orange Roughy
9. Russian King Crab
10. Brazilian Spiny Lobster
